Now, we know just how difficult it can be for students to feel satisfied with the budget they may have after you factor in tuition, books, housing, and the social activities that sometimes aren’t exactly included in your fees. Well, at MarketSteals it’s our priority to help you save, and we have a few tricks and simple advice students can implement on this occasion.

#1 Cooking

Many students may dread the idea of cooking for themselves on a consistent basis. This can be due to their ridiculous understanding of what cooking actually requires. Some students have a theory that cooking requires supernatural skills and abilities to make meals that you may have ordered at a local 5 star restaurant. However, it can be quite simple. You can begin with just two pans, one to boil, and a saucepan or frying pan for a few breakfast meals. The go to for mornings can be eggs, which can be made in under 10 minutes. Additionally, by simply having a pot you can boil some pasta for 10 minutes, drain the pot, throw in some sauce and you have some dinner. These simple tricks can save you hundreds in a calendar month, or even a week if you love to eat out consistently. We’d strongly encourage you to build up a few recipes, and cut down on spending with some simple and healthy options anyone can do from the kitchen.

#2 Walking

As a student, it can become quite annoying to walk to class, or rush through campus switching classes or finding somewhere to study, or meet with colleagues or professors. However, walking can be extremely helpful not only for your budget, but also your health. On those days where you have an extra 15 minutes, rather than taking a taxi, uber, bus, or car. Plan out your journey and see if you have a half hour to an hour to walk to campus. Additionally, on nights out or the weekend, if you’re hanging out with friends, suggest some places you can walk to. This activity is one that can clear your head, and as walking is free, you won’t clear out your bank account!

#3 Biking

Biking is another physical activity that you can implement to help you travel with ease, with efficient timeliness, and positive impact on your health. As for a bike, you just need to maintain tires, perhaps have a lock for your bicycle, and you’re good to do some good exercise while getting to and from campus with ease. As you can imagine, you may have done 20+ trips in the week, in which you didn’t have to spend on transport, or even worry about gas, etc.

#4 Study More

This may sound like stating the absolute obvious, but you would be surprised how beneficial studying more is for saving. For some, simply studying at the required amount of time necessary to pass a course is a challenge, especially if you are one to procrastinate. Do not worry if you fit this description, as we all experience it. As students spend more time studying, they aren’t thinking about activities that could disrupt them processing information related to their courses. They are less likely to spend money shopping, socializing, or eating which puts a lot of money back into their pockets.

#5 Student ID

This student ID that many students possess is like a secret weapon many don’t realize they could use. Many local restaurants, attractions, and services offer beneficial discounts to students. This makes these activities even more fun, when you can have a few extra pounds or dollars to spare. So we definitely advise you to ask or search online where you can take advantage of student discounts. Even on campus, there are advertised deals, or departments you can discover discounts you can take advantage of, especially if you already use such services.

#6 StudentBeans

If you happen to be in the UK, StudentBeans is a great resource to take advantage of deals. You will find many free add-ons to deals, and discounts often 50% off for many of the services you use daily. We’d strongly recommend to check them out.
